When I decided to do a volunteer program I was searching for a life changing experience, today I know that I made the right decision. I did the education programme in Cape Town, South Africa for 2 weeks. My work was in a primary school near the center of Cape Town, I was with children from grade 1 to grade 6, helping them reading in English and sometimes in maths. All the children are amazing and very kind.I received all the support that I needed from Love Volunteers team and from the local team at Cape Town. I went completely alone with no expectations and no plans, and I returned completely in love with Cape Town. The experience of being "alone" with no one speaking my language was very enriching and besides the amazing volunteering experience, Cape Town (and South Africa) is an amazing place to visit.
My only regret is that I went only for 2 weeks, if you plan to do a volunteering program in Cape Town please go for the maximum time that you can, you have things to do and to see for months!
