General Impression
Overall Rating:
/ 10Overall I did enjoy my program, although if doing the medical programme you really need to put yourself out there and offer to help where you can. The staff are willing to translate and explain things to you as long as you ask. If you have any problems or wish to move wards you may need to be persistent in asking for help with this.Country
I have loved this country. The weather was not great during my stay but I still saw some beautiful sights and had some great experiences. Everyone is very kind and helpful, just ask anyone for directions or help and they will be happy to help. Overall I think this is a great country to visit especially if you have a lot of free time to see everything. The people were very nice and I stayed in Lakeside which was also very nice.
Project & Staff
The staff were great on arrival. I arrived at midnight and Keshab and Manoj helped me to my accommodation and then rode the bus over with me. I was dropped off at my accommodation in Pokhara and Manoj returned a few hours later to check on me. The host family was great, very kind and accommodating and happy to help booking things like sight seeing.
Tips
I feel I could have gotten more out of it if I was in a public hospital or I was partnered with a doctor during my time.
If you are walking around alone make sure you are assertive as some people will approach you offering services or offering to show you around and need to be firm when saying no.
